With much awaited anticipation, Alber Elbaz unveils his first collection for children’s wear, Lanvin Petite. Inspired by the brands creator Jeanne Lanvin and infused with her timeless modernity and infinite love for her daughter Marguerite.
The capsule collection consists of twenty-five precious pieces, created for young girls from ages four to ten. The collection carries the familiar hallmarks of the brand's womenswear, and will be available at selected points of sale starting November 2011.
This new wardrobe for little fashionistas combines Lanvin's technical expertise with the modern flare of its designer; it tells a story with wit and grace, unfolding in rich materials, meticulous details, fluid lines, full of life and charm.
As always in Lanvin collections, the dresses are the precious pieces that shine. The little frocks come in a range of exquisite and luxurious materials, such as washed organza embroidered with crystals, satin ribbon and grosgrain, draped or pleated tulle, like a cheeky and delightful take on mommy’s dresses. Other highlights include an elegant but understated silk taffeta trench coat with beaded sleeves, a black skirt that wraps unruly frills around petite waists and an off-white ecru coat-dress. Finally, to add the finishing touches to the playful looks, a few embroidered or ribbon embellished T-shirts to finish off a perfect outfit.
The necklaces of beads, tulle, rhinestones and metal are designed in the same spirit as the main collection for femme. Lastly, let’s not forget what every princess puts on her little feet, the “oh so adorable” mini Lanvin ballerinas, which comes in a patent, satin-finished material and crowned with a little pompom made out of tulle.
