First of united Italy, the world knew a caledoiscopio of squabbling kingdoms: the once imperial Rome, the water world of Venice, the Florence of Michelangelo, the Milan opera. But Italy, the nation, begins in its skies, its passage to the north-west where the mountains collide painted to perfection with a tumultuous city of inventions. Where suffering and freedom are intertwined, where the slopes were built castles and forts erected towards the sky, knowing that they would resist the invaders came. At these altitudes, thanks to bold hearts never won, was born the miracle unifier - the Risorgimento - the birth of Italy. The first parliament, a new flag, cousins from the long dispute has made one, happens here, in the shadow of these icy Alps, surrounded by spacious squares and arcades without end, in the splendor of the town long besieged barroco, Turin. Prima dell'Italia unita, il mondo conosceva un caledoiscopio di regni litigiosi: la Roma una volta imperiale, il mondo dell'acqua di Venezia, la Firenze di Michelangelo, la Milano lirica. Ma l'Italia, la nazione, incomincia nei suoi cieli, al suo passaggio nord-occidentale dove montagne dipinte alla perfezione si scontrano con una città dalle invenzioni tumultuose. Dove s'intrecciano sofferenza e libertà, dove sui pendii sono stati costruiti castelli ed erette fortezze verso il cielo, per resistere agli invasori sapendo che sarebbero venuti. A queste altitudini, grazie a cuori coraggiosi mai conquistati, è nato il miracolo unificatore – il Risorgimento – la nascita dell'Italia. Il primo parlamento, una nuova bandiera, cugini dalle lunghe dispute ne ha fatta una, succede qui, all'ombra di queste Alpi ghiacciate, in mezzo a piazze spaziose e portici senza fine, nello splendore barroco della città a lungo assediata, Torino.
